Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) is the standard reconstitution solvent for lyophilized research peptides. APEX 100 supplies it as a USP-grade sterile solution containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol—the universally accepted bacteriostatic agent that inhibits microbial growth through membrane disruption, permitting multiple sequential withdrawals from a single vial without compromising sterility.
The critical distinction from single-use sterile water (WFI) is the multi-quantity capability. Once a lyophilized peptide is reconstituted in BAC Water, the benzyl alcohol preservative maintains antimicrobial protection for the duration of the vial's use, provided proper aseptic technique is followed—typically up to 28 days when refrigerated. This is essential for research protocols requiring repeated application from the same reconstituted solution over days or weeks.
APEX 100's BAC Water is filled into sealed glass vials with rubber stoppers designed for repeat needle penetration without coring. Each vial is tested for sterility, endotoxin levels, and pH prior to release. Supplied in 10mL vials. Store at room temperature (20–25°C), away from direct light.
